Hi,

Sometimes when I say "Show numbers" in order to use the relevant WSR command, instead of performing the command, I simply get the word 'show numbers' appearing in text on the screen.  Other times the command seems to work fine.  I can't work our why.  Any thoughts?

                    Welcome (See Mission Statement)

WSR is a dying technology that we suspect will be removed from the next full Windows release because Microsoft now owns Nuance (Dragon). WSR development was discontinued in 2006; other than a minor change to support the Windows 7/8/10 desktop interface.

In DPI 15.61 (Dragon Professional Individual), you can force a command by holding the {Ctrl} Key down. You might look to see if there is a similar option in WSR. However, if speech recognition plays an important role in your computer use, you should consider Dragon and if you are disabled, the KnowBrainer 2017 (w/2020 AI Commands) hands-free command utility is free. We only mentioned disabled because we don't typically see nondisabled end-users working with numbering technology.

Hi Kingsley,

This I believe is what we call a 'temporary blip.' When this happens, shut down Windows Speech Recognition and then restart it. You will find that ShowNumbers will be reinstated.

Cheers
