My beloved old Office 2013 is reaching its end of life on April 11. I am being forced to upgrade. I'm looking for advice on which Office version to get: 2016, 2019 or 2021.
My main concerns are stability and speed. Differences in price are not a problem. This is a seven-year-old computer. It's a solid-state drive (16GB RAM, Intel Core i7-5600U 2.6GHz) so it's doing amazingly well, but I don't want to push my luck, even though I won't be using Office much.
I'm also thinking about a Dragon upgrade. I am currently running DPI 15.61 on Windows 10, but I will be getting Dragon 16 eventually anyway. The only thing is that I'm not thrilled about the prospect of wrangling two upgrades at the same time. And I've been hearing a lot about how great Dragon 16 is for Windows 11, but does it make a difference to stability and speed on Windows 10?
Summary: If you can tell me how stable your particular combination of Office 2016/2019/2021 and Dragon 15.6/16 is, and if Dragon 16 makes a difference on Windows 10, I'd be very grateful. Also, whether I should upgrade Office before Dragon or vice versa.
And yes, I will be getting the VLA version of Dragon 16 as advised in this earlier thread: https://www.knowbrainer.com/forums/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=4&threadid=37053&highlight_key=y&keyword1=Dragon%2016 |

We still have Windows 10 on 1 of our computers with Microsoft 365 (Office 2021). We haven't experience any real problems

Thank you, Lunis. I'm assuming that's with Dragon 16?
I am guessing it's best to upgrade Office before I upgrade Dragon? |

It doesn't make any difference because Dragon installs Microsoft add-ins into the C:\Program files\(x86)\Nuance\NaturallySpeaking 16\program\x64\ folder. Microsoft 365 doesn't need to be installed before Dragon ------------------------- Change "No" to "Know" w/KnowBrainer 2022 |
