Hi there,

I hope you all well. This is my first post here.

I am looking to to purchase a tablet and wish to put Dragon Speaking on it. I am looking at the Lenovo 520 tablet ( i5-8250u, 8gb ram) or the Dell latitude 5290 ( i5-8250u, 8gb ram). I was not sure which one purchase.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Zaheer

                    Welcome (See Mission Statement)

Don't try to save money on RAM. All computer should include 16 Gb of RAM or more. We recommend Intel i9, i7, i5 or AMD equivalent processors. 16 Gb of RAM (8 Gb minimum) for most end-users; 32 Gb of RAM or more for power users. We recommend 512 Gb or larger SSDs (256 Gb minimum).

What Lunis said plus, don't rely on an onboard microphone, so make sure the tablet has at least a USB port so you can use a dedicated microphone. Furthermore, be very careful with ambient noise in the area where you are doing the dictation in, assuming you don't use a microphone/headset combination. Some background noises can be quite problematical, especially fans or music with a lot of base content.

Thank you for your help. It's greatly appreciated. I am not sure if either of these machines come in a 16GB, but will upgrade following your advice. I assume the processor i5-8250u is okay ?

Will also arrange a headset with mic.

Thank you again

Any i5 processor is fine, as noted in our previous response. We just prefer that you not purchase an i3
