Hello, I used to have the Jabra Evolve 75 wireless, but it died recently, and while the quality was acceptable, I want to go with a wired solution as I do not trust bluetooth wireless quality.

In particular I have selected this from the dragon shop:

SpeechWare FlexyMike Dual Ear Cardiod / DEC

I have selected this for 2 reasons: First, because it is said that it has excellent accuracy. Second, I actually want something without speakers, I hate the feeling of anything against my ears, specially for prolonged usage. I had several question and I would appreciate your help greatly:
1) Thiere is also a version that's bundled with the SpeechMatic MultiAdapter Bundle which is 448 USD compared to this which is 289 USD. Does the only thing that adaptor do is improve the quality of recognition if there is noise? I have a regular laptop, so I gather it does not have any special soundcard, so if I don't get adaptor is the only thing I lose out on the possiblity of accurately dictating in noisy enivronments?
2) I read on some site that they have the 3rd generation etc..is this the latest gen?
3) Any general consts or disadvantages with this set that you may have? Or any general suggestions are welcome.

                    Welcome (See Mission Statement)

The SpeechMagic MultiAdapter USB soundcard doesn't specifically improve your accuracy; although it is possible. It adds some noise filtering, auto volume control and auto EQ. For example, if you left your microphone on your desk (forgot to put it on) it would probably still work because of the auto volume control. The auto EQ would help with your distance because the further away you get from the microphone the thinner your voice becomes. Of course you probably don't get very far away from a headset microphone. The auto EQ artificially adds midrange base back to your voice. It also features a blue light mode which bypasses all of the effects. This can be useful for VoIP communications.

We codeveloped the SpeechWare FlexyMike DEC for exactly why you find it appealing. We don't like speakers covering our ears either. We also don't like the extra weight of speakers but they are great for sound playback situations like VoIP calls

We only carry the latest versions of all software and microphones. Our reputation is on the line and we do nothing but speech recognition and peripherals. By the way, the DEC is actually fourth-generation but we didn't figure it out until the advertising was already released

Bluetooth microphone accuracy is now on par with wired USB microphone accuracy. There is normally no difference but the new Shokz OpenComm UC Bone Conduction Bluetooth headset microphone is more accurate, more noise filtering, has no speakers, lighter, significantly less expensive and more comfortable than any other microphone on our website. We recommend checking them both out and of course we include a 30 day customer satisfaction no restock fee guarantee

Dear Lunis,

Thank you very much, if you hadn't told me so, I'd stopped trusting bluetooth connection and gone for wired  - at least for speech recognition (for music i have wireless earbuds). One question regarding the Shokz: can they be charged while I am using them to dictate via dragon? Or are they not usable when charging?

I have contacted Shokz and they have said that it can damage batteries if I use them while charging, so I guess it's a no. I suppose that means if the batteries die I can use them? Their support was not very helpful, so ultimately I do not know. I may contact them again in the future.

+ Good call contacting Shokz.

We tested the OpenComm UC, while it was charging and it worked fine. Of course, we only did it for a few minutes and we didn't contact Shokz. They are probably right and we won't be using it that way again.

Thank you very much for responding. Now I have to make a decision on which of the headsets I will get.
