Lunis: the microphone you recommend, Audio-Technica Pro 8HEmW, undoubtedly will enable recognition in a noisy environment such as a plane - I will trust you on that. However, as far as I can tell it does absolutely nothing for preventing me from being overheard, whether in a noisy plane or in a quiet restaurant on the ground. to me that privacy/security aspect is probably as important as noise tolerance.

I can't comment on the Audio-Technica Pro 8HEmW as I have no experience with that. But I can tell you that I have been able to dictate with laryngitis using the BOOM O--which amazed me. It also is very good in terms of noise cancelling.
