Good afternoon. I'm currently having problems with my TableMike 3-in-1. This is an older microphone but has been working well for me. The problem I'm having is when I start up my computer the microphone displays red on the light above the pushbutton, and the computer does not pick up any sound from the microphone. I currently have the microphone switch set as always on. I must unplug the microphone from the computer and plug it back in to the USB port for the light to turn to green and the microphone to pick up sound. Once I have unplugged/plugged the microphone, everything seems to work normally from then on. This is a long-standing problem on this computer/microphone system. Prior to this new installation of Dragon 15, I was running Dragon 12 on the system. I had the same problem with the microphone with Dragon 12. At this point I don't believe that the problem is Dragon. I suspect this long-standing problem is my system and the TableMike. I have other USB microphones, and they come up normally and are ready to use when the computer is finished booting up, unlike the TableMike. Hopefully I can get some help from this form. I tried searching the Internet but cannot find any similar problems. This is a minor annoyance, not a major problem. As noted above, everything runs normally once I unplug/plug-in the microphone. Necessary information: running on a Windows 7 computer maxed out with 8 GB of RAM and SSD one tetra byte hard disk. Just installed Dragon 15.61. Internal microphones on the computer are currently disabled. Any thoughts? Thanks for any help you can give. ------------------------- Even if you are a minority of one, the truth is the truth. |

Welcome (See Mission Statement)
This has nothing to do with Dragon and everything to do with your computer. You will find a detailed answer under the Quick Tips button, at the top of this page, when you look up Prevent Windows 10 From Losing USB Connections. The same answer applies to Windows 11 ------------------------- Change "No" to "Know" w/KnowBrainer 2022 |

Thank you for your assistance Lunis. I agree, the problem is not Dragon. I think the problem is with the TableMike however since other USB microphones don't have the same issue. I have Windows 7. I searched for preventing Windows 7 from losing USB connections and found several hits. These are similar to the ones that you list in quick tips. I tried applying these but still have the same problem. I will continue to search, hopefully someone else will come up with other ideas. Thanks for your assistance.

If dropping the USB port only happens with your 3-in-1 then your microphone sounds like the culprit. Since it's no longer under warranty, we recommend using your current workaround until your microphone fails completely.
