Hi all, I've been Using Dragon for years and now in the past couple of days I have encountered a problem I've never encountered before. In fact I am using Windows Speech recognition to dictate this because essentially Dragon is no longer working.
When I start to dictate Dragon almost immediately turns off the microphone (that is, the icon goes from green to red).
I have not changed any settings I've used for years, and I've been using this microphone for some time. I have version 15.61, windows 10 pro (latest update), 16 gb memory, etc. It works with Windows Speech (though WS is not very good).
I was not able to locate any discussion of the issue on the forum.
Has anyone had this problem and is there a solution? If not I will try to reinstall.
Thanks, Alan |

Just a shot in the dark: Dragon makes it impossible to turn on the microphone if you're in "Correction mode". Have you checked your settings?

In Correction Mode, the mic doesn't even turn on, so we have to dig deeper.
Depending on what mic you have, could it be that you set it on Push-to-talk? That happened to me with a SpeechMike. Fortunately, it was easy to fix. Hope that helps, Stephan ------------------------- |

It seems to have stopped as mysteriously as it started. I was not in correction mode by the way and I don't have a push to talk microphone. I did change going to sleep from five minutes to 40 minutes and having the microphone start in sleep mode. I'll go back to those settings which I have been using forever to see if it appears again. Thanks for your suggestions |
