I upgraded to v. 15 from 13 a few months ago. Dragon is now capitalizing every word, including articles & prepositions, for example, "Washington State Library For The Blind" when I select the text and say "Cap that." I'm positive this didn't happen in v13. Is there a setting I changed inadvertently?

Help, please! Thanks!

AFAIK the command is "Title case that" if you don't want "For The" capitalized.

Thanks, but I don't show that as a formatting command or anywhere in Help.

We suspect you said something that Dragon interpreted as Caps on. Try saying caps off. If that doesn't work, close and re-launch Dragon

Thanks, but I'm just talking about a phrase that I select and want to capitalize according to accepted rules, like not capitalizing articles or prepositions. Sorry I wasn't clear.

cap that works the same way in Ver. 15 as it did in Ver. 13. However, it only works in Dragon friendly environments, like Microsoft Word. Do you see a green or checkmark in your DragonBar? If not, the NatSpeak add-in is missing and will need to be reengaged.

Even if you had inadvertently said the command "caps on," this should not have capitalised the words ' for' & 'the.'

I tried to replicate your problem by dictating the same "Washington State Library for the Blind" with caps on. As you see here, Dragon did not capitalise the words ' for' & 'the.' I have an advanced script that precisely capitalises every word, including articles and prepositions. You have managed it without an advanced script.

Jesting aside, it may just be a case of closing Dragon and restarting it. If it is still there after doing that, it may just be a case of making a new profile. If it is still there after that and it is a phrase you use regularly, then it may be worth checking your custom words to see if that phrase is in there being replicated.

Cheers
