So I'm new to this forum. I have a big computer I9-10980XE 128Gb and running only vmware workstation pro. One of my guest vm = win10 22h2 16Gb 1 (virtual)cpu/ 8 cores. Sine I installed DNS 15 I got this weird problem of slowing down all kind of systemoperations when DNS is running (not speaking). After a lot of trying adding more rescourses (vcpu) to the Guest (up to 16), I noticed only more degradation of the overall performance in the guest. So somewhere I read about degreading vcpu and ended up in degreading vcpu to 1 cpu and 2 cores. With this setting the guestsystem with DNS 15 is running almost flawless (taking into account it uses only 2 cores, even after 2 weeks continually running. I tried the same on another system with an I7-7820 cpu and 64 Gb Win 10 22h2 and Vmware Wokstation pro 16 and 17 latest editions. Result are the same. It seems that cpu power is to much for DNS to work properly, at least in a virtual machine. That seems crazy, but is it? Perhaps Dragon is willing to look into it. I tried but no response. Does anyone have the same experience? |

Welcome (See Mission Statement)
There is no such thing as too much power for Dragon or most other apps. We are not certain but this sounds more like a corrupted user profile. Dragon user profiles can become lethargic over time. You might consider our Dragon Installation/Training Guide, which includes pictorial details on the installation process, a list of Dragon commands organized by category and pictorial details on fixing 30 sandtraps. 1 of those tips is on preventing your Dragon profile from becoming lethargic ------------------------- Change "No" to "Know" w/KnowBrainer 2022 |

Here is an update: After testing a few days on the I9 system performance once again slowed down. On the I7 system much less. Until i read some blogs about the systemservices sysmain and background intelligent tansfer service. Sysmain is not nessecary to run on a system with ssd. It is adviced to turn it of if you don't need it. So I did. And after this my system is responding in (almost) the same way as it does without Dragon running. I'm now testing my I9 guest machine with 4 cores and until now no problem. Keep my fingers crossed.
