I spent part of yesterday afternoon overcoming various problems caused by this update. I had to find the registration code for Speechstart+ to get my licence back. I was a little amused to discover that this update has acquired "show numbers" and "show grid" (our MouseGrid). Who said that MouseGrid was old hat?

I'm not sure if there's a connection but my machine did the windows 11 22H2 update and there seems to be something DPI 15.61.2 doesn't like. My setup was working pretty good before this update but maybe it's just coincidence. It is responding slower and accuracy is terrible, had to retype most of this short message after dictating it. If there are any known solutions please share them.

Presumably the command Show Numbers brings up small dark blue balloons with white numbers? You are running Microsoft Voice Access at the same time as Dragon which is just going to confuse the results of everything you are doing. You need to switch off voice access. Normally you have a bar right across the top of the screen which you need to close. "Show Grid" is also a Voice Access command. Also see the post below or above regarding switching off Voice Access from the accessibility settings.
See the following link for a picture of the voice access bar
If you have lost your Speechstart+ activation you need to make sure you are running the latest version of Speechstart+ which you can download from here:

If you send me your activation code at support@pcbyvoice.com I can reset your activations but I think the reason you have lost your activation is because you are running an old version of Speechstart+. ------------------------- |

Again you need to doublecheck you are not running Voice Access although your problem could be something completely different in terms of Dragon. Go to Start Menu | Settings | Accessibility and make sure you turn off voice access. Don't get confused between Windows speech recognition and voice access, they are completely different speech engines. Windows Speech Recognition is the old WSR (client base), Voice Access is the new cloud-based Windows speech recognition system.
If you are not running Voice Access it is likely that Dragon is now using the wrong microphone with windows 11. You are possibly using the array microphone comes built into your machine as opposed to your dedicated headset or desktop microphone that you normally use with Dragon. Since you are using DPI I believe the Dragon bar menus are different from DPG which I am running. So from memory on the Modern style Dragon bar you click on Audio | Choose Microphone. Have a look at the Dragon bar menus and you will find it if my recollection is wrong for DPI 15.61. ------------------------- |

Minor correction: Voice Access is local, not cloud-based. |

Yip, it CAN be local in that it can work without Internet but it is not totally desktop based.
Internet is only needed for the initial download of the speech model, because that isn't shipped by default as part of the Windows package. But after that, everything happens completely on-device and there is no leveraging of cloud services. So I'm not sure what you mean by "not totally desktop based." |
