I can no longer dictate directly into the Search Box and must use the Dictation Box. I am using version 12.5. Is there a way to fix my problem? Thanks, |

First of all, using the correct forum would help. This one here is for the built-in speech recognition in Windows. Since you noted a version 12.5 I guess you're using that antique Dragon NaturallySpeaking version. The "Dragon Speech Recognition" forum is the one you're looking for.

Unfortunately, the single browser that was truly compatible with Dragon, Internet Explorer, is no longer being supported by Microsoft. The best alternative (although not as good as Internet Explorer was) is to use Microsoft Edge with the Dragon browser add-in for Chrome. However, the add-in is only available for versions 13 and later of Dragon.

There are probably 100 reasons to upgrade to DPI 15.61 but this isn't 1 of them. Beginning with Ver. 13, Nuance started making it difficult to dictate into non-Dragon friendly apps. We suspect that Nuance simply didn't want to take the support calls. Beginning in Ver. 15, Nuance kicked it up a notch by setting a default option to automatically open the Dictation Box in non-Dragon friendly fields. Gr...
