Hello all,
This has been an issue for a number of months and it is increasingly frustrating.

Using the command "open notepad" for "launch notepad" while in normal mode and with KnowBrainer running, produces the string "open notepad".

The same thing occurs when trying to open Microsoft Word using the analogous commands.

Turning off KnowBrainer has no positive effect. Being in command mode is equally useless.

Can anyone help me fix this?

If you are using a recent version of KnowBrainer 2017, an example command is Windows Open <Notepad>, Windows Open File <family vultures> ect... You not only can open any application, you can additionally open any file or folder. The reason why you lost the ability to open Noterpad ect... is probably because we made the recommendation to remove the checkmark from Enable launching from the Start menu and Enable launching from the desktop, in your DragonBar Option/Commands tab, in our KnowBrainer Dragon Installation/Training Guide, which you may already have and is complementary to our Dragon customers.

You can put all of those checkmarks back because we believe we have finally identified the culprit. We recommend adding a checkmark to Conserve disk space required by user profile (for portability) in the DragonBar Options/Data tab. If you check your email, you will see a non-expiring download for KnowBrainer, Dragon and all manuals. Although the downloads and manuals will be periodically, your downloads will remain intact.

Hi Lunis,
The version of KnowBrainer using I am is 4.00.015, which I assume is not the most recent version because I have not been able to get the command "Windows open <Notepad>" to work.

The link I have for KnowBrainer 2017 download no longer works.

What do I do next?

If you have written any KnowBrainer commands, you should export them before uninstalling KnowBrainer 2017 Ver. 4.0.

Click KnowBrainer 2017 Download which includes our installation guide and download instructions. Note that it's very important to launch KnowBrainer twice before running the KBCommandsUpdater which will install the last 6 months of commands.
