Occasionally losing the 1st word in your dictation typically occurs when attempting to dictate over a network or a substandard microphone.

However, this is also possible when using Dragon's default auto-gain control; especially in DMPE 4. Many of our physician customers have accuracy issues with Dragon's default auto-gain setting. Just for test purposes, you might consider turning off Dragon's auto-gain feature? This procedure is detailed in your KnowBrainer Medical Manual and the Dragon Quick Tips at the top of this forum, when you look up “auto-gain”.
