Hi,

Need some input on an unusual problem one of my clients has.

They have a laptop, running Windows 10, and Dragon 13, and a new laptop running Windows 10.

Originally, the client installed Dragon 15 Home on the new laptop, and attempted to migrate the Dragon 13 profile from the old laptop, but when they attempted to run Dragon 15 it came up with the following error -  Dictation is not possible, some files are corrupted or missing - in a green bubble below the Dragon Bar Mic icon.

When they contacted me, he said he wanted to try Dragon Professional Individual 15 instead of Home, so I uninstalled the Home edition, and removed the transferred profiles, and tried the DPI 15 install, creating a new profile in the process, but it came up with the same error.

Has anyone came across the idea before?

Would it be advisable to run the DPI15 cleaner and try again ?

Not sure what direction to take this, and would appreciate some suggestions.

Regards

GW

Do so, at any rate, and make sure to restart the computer after running the cleaner. Dragon Home 15 is known to have been crippled all the way, so, technically it isn't worth considering.

NEVER attempt to import your previous user profiles and whenever you post a forum question please include pertinent details. Avoid generic terms like Dragon 13 because different rules apply to different editions. We will assume your client is using Preferred 13 or Home Edition 13. As Rüdiger pointed out, the Home Edition is so crippled that we can only recommend it as a sampler. If your client is using Premium 13, we recommend going back, opening the user profile and exporting their vocabulary. It is not possible to export Premium commands but if they exist. If your client was using Home Edition 13, it is not possible to upgrade user profiles.

We concur with Rüdiger's suggestion to run DragonRemover but before running it, uninstall Dragon so that you won't have to sacrifice 1 of your 5 activations. Also note that remover will delete all user profiles that are stored in the default location. At this point, attempting to import a previous user profile is likely out of the question because it would appear to be corrupted. Details are included in our KnowBrainer Dragon Installation/Training Guide, which is complementary to our Dragon customers. Because of the lack of support, Dragon should never be purchased directly from the manufacturer or eBay/Amazon etc.
