Hi everyone,

I recently upgraded the RAM in my computer from 8 to 16 GB in order to increase speed of recognition when working through my microphone. With the increase in RAM, the system generally operates faster for me.

However, whenever I activate " track changes" in a Word 365 document, speed of recognition decreases drastically, sometimes becoming up to three times slower than dictation for word without marking "track changes".

Has anybody experienced this before? I would truly appreciate any input, as my work as a lawyer relies heavily on "track changes", particularly when assembling legal documents along with other colleagues.

Thanks in advance for your assistance. Best regards from Chile

Could you please say a few more words about 1) how big your documents are, 2) what Markup setting you use (none, legal line, all changes), 3) what changes are being tracked (formatting, characters, words, etc.), and 4) if this is a new problem or if track changes on has always worked well before? If you vary those settings, do the varied settings influence the problem? I use Word 365 all the time and have never known track changes to have any noticeable influence. My documents are usually under 60-70 pages.

To be more precise, I would hazard a guess that the track changes setting does not affect "speed of recognition" at all; instead, perhaps you mean "the speed at which characters appear in the document?"

Thanks for your response. I meant the speed at which characters appear in the document. Do you suspect why this might be happening?
Thanks for your help

I am working with documents that are around 15-20 pages, mostly adding new words (not heavy formatting). I only started using "track changes" recently, hence I ignore whether this is a new or old issue
