Hi,
when I say "capture screen" in Knowbrainer , nothing happens at all. Any suggestions, please ?

Cheers

Let's start with making sure that Dragon® recognized your utterance as a command…

Say the phrase "capture screen"; pause briefly and then say "show recognition history". You will see a list of your most recent utterances. The very last one should be "Show Recognition History" and all the way to the right there is a box with an X showing that Dragon® recognized this as a valid command.

Immediately above that last one should be "capture screen" - does it have an X showing that it was recognized as a valid command?

If not, you will need to re-create the command or figure out what the exact, proper name of the command is.

If it shows as recognized, you will need to edit the command to see why it is not working.

Report back as to whether it is or is not recognized as a command if you need more help.

KnowBrainer includes Capture Screen and Capture Window. You will probably find Capture Window to be more useful because it only takes a snapshot of the Window in focus. These commands do not confirm the capture but you can open Paint by saying Windows Open <paint> and saying Paste or pressing Ctrl+V to paste the contents of Windows clipboard (the picture) into Paint. After verifying your capture, you can close Microsoft Paint by saying Close Without Saving.

Okay, the pasting into Paint fixed it. Basically, I did not know that the screenshot had gone to Windows clipboard.
I am a newbie, in case you hadn't guessed already. ??
Cheers

You won't have to go through Paint, if you want to paste it into an editor which accepts graphics as input, such as Word or an Outlook message, for example. Simply say "paste it here", after switching to it.

Kingsley,

There is also the Dragon commands to achieve this

by saying,
"press print screen" (to capture the entire screen)

or saying,
"press Alt print screen" (to capture the focused window.)

Cheers

Addendum:  Normally, once taking a screenshot, the screenshot will automatically go into your pictures library.  You can however, elect to put your screenshots automatically into any library or folder you wish.

I have made a folder called 'Screenshots' and have my protocol so that any screenshots I take will automatically go into this folder.

My philosophy is, if the commands are already there in Dragon, why bother to clog up your command browser with any more unnecessary scripted commands.

If you want to speed up the process a little

In SP we use the following DVC commands all the time. I attached them to this post:

You can simply import these commands into your Dragon® Command Browser.
