Hello all, |

"Cannot get […] to work" We might need more information on how it does not work. Are you sure that the command still exists? If so, does anything get printed out? My last copy of the KnowBrainer commands is from just before Lunis did his major pruning. The command existed there as a global command (and looks like it should work with the minor exception that "dictation" might contain characters which need to be escaped - a trivial problem for which I posted a solution on this board a while back): Command name = Single Quote <dictation> Sub Main which could probably be boiled down to:

Hi Edgar, It appears to exist. I can see it among the global commands. See the attachment.
When I say "Single Quote<testing>" I get: single testing

We couldn't get it to work either but the code is correct. We tried about 12 different variations which all failed but worked correctly when we changed the name entirely. We replaced the command with the exact same formula, closed and re-launched KnowBrainer which seems to be working. Even though there are no changes, we added it to the latest download. ------------------------- Forum Mission Statement |

If your KnowBrainer 2017 utility is up-to-date, Quote That was removed a few years ago. It sounds like you might be using 4 year-old technology. Try running our KBCommandsUpdater ------------------------- Forum Mission Statement |

I copied the "Single Quote<dictation>" command and saved it under the name "English Quote<dictation>" then relaunched Dragon and KnowBrainer. |

Now I remember why I use "fancy single quote" and "fancy double quote" for the names of my versions of this command (which consider characters which might need to be escaped). And, I now recall that at least one of these four characters (open fancy single quote, close fancy single quote, open fancy double quote & close fancy double quote) will not print from a KnowBrainer nor DragonĀ® script so that is why I use a third-party application to do this job.
