In Word, you can say things like:

uppercase the previous paragraph
lowercase the next five words
uppercase the rest of this line
lowercase page 10
uppercase this sentence
lowercase the previous row
uppercase this column

 

There is also a bunch of commands that are prefixed by "initial cap," e.g., "initial cap the entire sentence."
