Until the last half of 2019 I utilized KnowBrainer 2017 to make the majority of my commands. At that point making verbal commands instead of being fun started to be a frustrating experience. If I were to successfully make a command utilizing Verbal Basic Scripting, VBA+ and KnowBrainer 2017 it was now taking about 4 attempts, I would check “Recognition History” and look in the KnowBrainer Sidebar yet no new command. Most of the time DMPE (4.2 at the time) would misunderstand “My Command Name” and it was so fast I did not catch the name that DMPE 4.2 interpreted as me having given (therefore I could not use the “Find/Edit Command"). I started trying to remember to insert into my dictation of “My Command Name” a “;” which was NOT an acceptable character within the “My Command Name” therefore I would rejoice when the message appeared requiring me to revise the “My Command Name.” In December 2019 I spoke with Lunis Orcutt. I cannot remember your reasoning, but I think you suggested that I go to using NaturallySpeaking Commands until KnowBrainer 2020 becomes available. While in medical school in the 1980s I would hear "M.D." stood for “Make Decision”. For many of today's Medical Doctors "M.D." is a euphemism for “Master Dvorakist”. “Mindful Dictationists”, the M.D.s on the KnowBrainer Forum are appreciative of Lunis Orcutt (KnowBrainer and KnowBrainer 2017), Mark Benjamin (CEO, Nuance Communications - Dragon Medical Practice Edition, DMPE 4.3, Build 15.50.200.030), Rüdiger Wilke (RW Dragon Utilities – DragonCapture et al.), and others- including those who contribute insights to this forum! DMPE 4.3 and KnowBrainer 2017 emancipate us to become more efficient and mentally fresh by creating our own Verbal Basic + commands and avoiding potential boring repetitiousness in the documentation process. Keep up the great work! Carl E. In April 2020 yes.
Since Christmas I've utilized KnowBrainer 2017 verbal scripting successfully, however I see where at least one forum member suggested saving commands in DMPE 4.3, avoiding KnowBrainer 2017. I have noticed with KnowBrainer 2017 running I usually have 20-40 second freezes when making commands or command edits (in DMPE 4.3 and in KB 2017), but much less of a problem if I only have DMPE 4.3 running. Is it a glitch with Windows 10? Will we have to wait until KnowBrainer 2021? When KnowBrainer 2021 is released should we resume making commands w KB 2021 and leaving them in KB 2021 w/o moving them from KB 2021 to DMPE 4.3? ------------------------- DMPE 4.3 Build 15.50.200.030 {04/07/2020}, KnowBrainer 2017 Build 01/01/2021, DragonCapture Build 1.0.3698 {12/16/2020}, Philips SpeechMike LFH3500/00 Premium, Dell OptiPlex 3040 Intel Core i7-6700, CPU@3.408GHz, 3.41GHz, RAM 16.0GB, Windows 10 Pro V1809 64-bit OS, x64-based processor Build 17763.864, 01/20/2003 MedInformatix EMR V7.6.8.20 as of 12/16/2020 |

You should find it significantly easier to use VB II to create commands in Dragon. Try saying New Script <FILL IN THE BLANK> to name your Dragon command and prepare for verbal script dictation. The latest release of KnowBrainer has gotten that 20 to 40 second wait time down to 5 or 6. We recommend uninstalling KnowBrainer and then installing the latest version. We additionally recommend running the KBCommandUpdater after installing the latest release. ------------------------- Forum Mission Statement |

What is the current version of Knowbrainer? I experience frequent freezes requiring restarts. What is the procedure? Does it require looking at my old serial/activation number? ------------------------- HP Pavillion dv7;Windows 10 Home; i7 2670-QM @2.2 GHz; 16GB RAM; DPI 15.61; Knowbrainer 2017; Dragon Capture; SpeechStart +; Sennheiser MB Pro 1 UC/ML; Addasound SR2701 |

The latest version is 4.5.1. You will need to uninstall and reinstall. Although not required, we additionally recommend running the KBCommandsUpdater. The current Build is <%> KB Build 01-05-2021 (1st KnowBrainer global command). When KnowBrainer was 1st released, it was fast but Windows updates have caused some sluggish issues which needed to be resolved. ------------------------- Forum Mission Statement |

KB updater says I'm running the latest version of the commands file. However, if you look at the attached image, but it says I'm running and what the latest version is do not match?

For some reason the update utility doubled the name of the 1st command and refused to update. Please try again and post back.

Knowbrainer now updated to <%> KB Build 01-05-2021. However, it is at the bottom of the list of KB Builds not the top. Is that indicative of anything or not a problem?
Thanks. ------------------------- HP Pavillion dv7;Windows 10 Home; i7 2670-QM @2.2 GHz; 16GB RAM; DPI 15.61; Knowbrainer 2017; Dragon Capture; SpeechStart +; Sennheiser MB Pro 1 UC/ML; Addasound SR2701 |
