Hi Lunis,

I have a user on DPI 15.6 who just got an SMP4000. The mic is seen by Win10, and is seen in PDCC 4.4.44. Buttons function in PDCC. When the user opens Dragon, the mic is seen in Dictation Source but lists as unavailable. It also lists SpeechMike III, but when we select that, it throws an error.

1. Do you know if SMP4000 works on DPI15?

2. Any other ideas as to why this is happening?

Thanks, Connell

                    Welcome (See Mission Statement)

Dragon recognizes the SMP4000 as a SpeechMike III. The PDCC is the SpeechMike's required utility to program the buttons. You should not receive a Dragon error. You will probably need to contact your reseller who Philips requires to handle the support. This is part of Philips licensing agreement. Philips doesn't directly support their professional line of equipment. If you're Philips certified reseller can't resolve the problem, they will need to contact their distributor. This sounds like an odd way to do business but Olympus works the same way. If we had to make a guess, we suspect that your microphone might actually be the problem.

Hi,

Select this option to be able to control Dragon NaturallySpeaking with your SpeechMike buttons.

If you write that Dragon lists a SpeechMike III as unavailable, did the user have a SpeechMike III before getting the SMP4000?

Different device models are handled as separate microphones by Dragon, so you'll probably have to add the SMP4000 as new microphone.

Apart from that, if you write that selecting the SpeechMike III "throws an error", it always is essential to read, understand and post the exact error message.

Otherwise the gain of information by just saying "something is wrong" is next to none.
