My DMPE 4.3 Commands 02 12 2021 saved files contain ONLY 1 KB (.txt) and 2 KB (.xml). . Is the file I'm looking for elsewhere on my hard drive, was I asleep when I did this, is there a known problem that causes only 1 or 2 KB to be backed up, or was it possible related to DMPE 4.3 sluggishness of late (user profile corruption)? I've saved all subsequent commands one by one in Microsoft Word documents, limiting each to about 20 pages. Is the BKM to copy and paste each new command of the past 2 months after saying "Add New Command"? ...and in the future backup MyCommands every 2 weeks/days/hours? Would you recommend pasting each into KnowBrainer 2017 instead of DMPE 4.3? KnowBrainer 2017 in my experience seems better about NOT allowing an error-laden command to be saved. Somewhat disheartened I decided to load... UNsuccessfully... my 2 month old 12/13/2020 6,288KB XML file. A popup window: "Invalid MyCommands data encountered while parsing: A semicolon character was expected"? This seems to be from a Text and Graphics command containing a website address of 90 -100+ characters. Prior to today I'd been using the USER PROFILE created 12/06/2020 - at which time I had no trouble backing up and installing my custom vocabulary, custom KnowBrainer commands and custom Dragon commands. ------------------------- DMPE 4.3 Build 15.50.200.030 {04/07/2020}, KnowBrainer 2017 Build 01/01/2021, DragonCapture Build 1.0.3698 {12/16/2020}, Philips SpeechMike LFH3500/00 Premium, Dell OptiPlex 3040 Intel Core i7-6700, CPU@3.408GHz, 3.41GHz, RAM 16.0GB, Windows 10 Pro V1809 64-bit OS, x64-based processor Build 17763.864, 01/20/2003 MedInformatix EMR V7.6.8.20 as of 12/16/2020 |

1, Verify that all of your personal DMPE 4 user commands are viewable in the Dragon Command Browser.
2. Check the size of your %PROGRAMDATA%\Nuance\NaturallySpeaking15\Users\[your username]\current\MyCommands.dat file. It seems like it should be larger than 2 Kb. Ours is over 8 Mb but we are admittedly command crazy.
3. If you have any doubts you can always go old school by copying your MyCommands.dat file. Of course whenever you make a backup copy of your user profile, you are also backing up your commands. It's a good idea to know where your commands are stored ------------------------- Change "No" to "Know" w/KnowBrainer 2022 |
