I have a client running DPI 15.61 on a computer equipped with a Core i7 8665U processor (4 cores, 8 MB cache), 16 GB RAM, and Windows 10. When starting Dragon, all is fine. However, the moment his profile fully loads, the disk active time rises to 100% continuously (and the fan comes on immediately) rendering Dragon unusably slow.
When this occurs, CPU activity remains normal and RAM usage does not exceed 6 GB.
A new, clean profile was created. I experimented turning off every Dragon option that could possibly affect its performance. I verified that all Dragon files are located on his local C drive. I obtained a copy of his dragon.log file. I noted he uses Cylance cybersecurity.
He works remotely and is connected to a Citrix network where only his documents reside. He believes the problem began when the department switched from an unspecified network to Citrix. A top-level IT employee assured him the change should not have any effect on his computer. Disconnecting from the network made no difference.
Nuance technical support (NOT lower tier) was unable to resolve the issue. Dragon has been reinstalled multiple times by his IT department.
Has anyone seen this type of problem? Any ideas as to the cause? ------------------------- Todd Kermit |
