Hi, My Department will now only supply the online version of MS Office 356 for home use - will DNS-15 prof cope or should be buy my own Office 365 license and run if off my PC?

My internet speeds are: Download 50 to 100 Mbps (highly dependent on WiFi usage with kids around). Up load speed; 7 to 9 Mbps.

Thanks, Paul AM.

You shouldn't notice any difference. We are using Microsoft 365 (formally Office 365). You only need an Internet connection to download Microsoft 365. Once it is locally installed, you can use it without an Internet connection. An Internet connection is only required if you store documents on the cloud

Thanks Lunis, my? is the reverse. I've been using 356 from my HD, but now the license has expired the default is to offer me the online version of 365. Being dyslexic I can request a license for a download and install 356, if there is a notable advantage; other than sticking to what I am used to & the odd occasion needing to use dragon when WiFi is not available.

Microsoft 365 comes as a download or DVD. In either event, you are installing and using it locally. You only need the Internet to download Microsoft 365. The download version has the additional advantage of allowing you to store files in the cloud. This feature is simply an option. We use a download of Microsoft 365 locally and never save files on the cloud but the cloud version also automatically updates itself. DVDs can't do that.

I think you may be asking a different question than Lunis is answering. If you are asking whether you can use Microsoft 365 online with Dragon, the answer is no. It either won't work or it will barely work. Noncommercial (i.e. individual) versions of Microsoft 365 have the ability to be downloaded for local use. As long as you do that, you are fine. I'm guessing from what you say that your employers get some version that does not allow the download for local use. If so, you will need to ask them for a license, because you won't be able to use Dragon online.
