Trying to revisit something I looked at awhile ago, namely creating a macro, called [good morning], to open applications that always need opened. HeardWord "start", "outlook" AppBringUp "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Outlook.lnk"
(I have also tried the AppBringUp pointing at the exe file) ------------------------- DPI 15.6.1 |

I use AppBringUp, but I use it to bring up a link on my QuickLaunch bar. I can't remember why I did this, but it's possible that I had problems using a link on the start menu or pointing to the executable file.

Try this hack. It's not pretty, but it will probably work.
1. Make sure Dragon is set to enable launching from the desktop. DragonBar > Tools > Options > Commands 2. Make sure there is a shortcut to Outlook on the desktop. If not, create one. 3. Open the properties of the Outlook shortcut on the desktop. 4. In the "Shortcut key" field, press a key combination that isn't likely to conflict with anything else, e.g.: Shift + Ctrl + Alt + o (Hold down Shift, Ctrl, and Alt at the same time. Press the letter "o." Then release all four keys at the same time.) 5. Click OK to close the Properties screen. 6. Use the following Advanced Scripting instruction to launch Outlook: SendSystemKeys "{Shift+Ctrl+Alt+o}" |

We definitely like Alan's approach but if you are using KnowBrainer 2020, all you have to do is get into the habit of saying things like Windows Open <Outlook>. It works like Alexa, Siri etc. only you can additionally open any app, utility, file, folder, picture, song and video, on any drive. ------------------------- Change "No" to "Know" w/KnowBrainer 2020 |
