using dpi 15.3 Buddy microphone Nvidia soundcard Dragon is constantly turning on the microphone by itself. It is also turning itself off and then I have to use my jouse (joystick, mouse) mouth controlled mouse because I'm disabled,to turn it back on which doesn't always work. It will be frozen in the off position and I have to close Dragon and start back up. Sometimes it is also freezing the cursor at the same time which is controlled by my jouse but the manual mouse that other people use will still work . When both happen at the same time I have to wait for someone to shut down my computer manually and do a restart. Michael O'Connor |

Have a look at Speechstart+ from pcbyvoice which was written specifically for the issues you are having. It allows you to wake up the microphone by voice from the off state (red icon mode) and you can skip wake up/go to sleep altogether for more reliable commands microphone on and microphone off. It also has the ability to restart dragon by voice when it locks up. This way it runs the microphone command and restart dragon command in a separate speech engine which allows control of Dragon. It does quite a lot of other things as will. You can try a 15 day trial at the following address:

hello again, I took your advice and took a look at speechstart, started out with the 15 day trial but I like it so much I will definitely be purchasing it. Only using the microphone on and off features so far but it works so well. I can't believe that companies like pcbyvoice and KnowBrainer have to come up with so many solutions that take care of Dragon problems. Thanks for the help and suggestion, Michael microphone on |
