Welcome to Our New Website

Well, it has been a long time coming, but it's finally here! Having used one site for many years, KnowBrainer had pushed the limits on what we could do with the old Website. In polling our customers, we found that people were looking for a cleaner, simple look & feel that would be easy to navigate. Customers also expressed a strong desire for updated services in our user Forums (new Forums to be released soon) and shopping cart, such as online credit card processing. To meet the critical business needs of KnowBrainer, we reached out to Orcutt Labs, Inc. to put us together a Website that was feature-rich, yet offered us all of the latest services and features that you might expect from much larger company Websites. Naturally and true-to-fashion, we gave them several days to build the new site....

Look & Feel

Our new site features a Flash-based header that provides us a little fancy animation and supports the clean look and feel with simple navigation that we were going for. In addition, to speed loading time, we don't force you to go through a longer Flash splash animation before you enter the site; instead, you can see a long Flash animation by clicking on the 'Play Presentation' link in the standard Flash header that we load. Additionally, we don't reload the Flash header on each page. Instead, as you navigate throughout the site the center page content is the only page content that is being loaded. To further increase speed, much of the center page content is cached on our Web server for quick delivery to your browser. The real heavy-lifting that needs to be done on the site (users forum and shopping cart) will launch your browser to separate sub-domains on our Website with slightly different layouts to support the dynamic nature of these services.

Shopping

You can read all about the new shopping cart from our previous events posting. We launched this new cart to help us with several new features that included user features (such as real-time online credit card processing), as well as features for us (easy content management for adding and modifying product listings).
