I am a new user to Dragon Naturally Speaker 11.5 Professional. Recently, when I try to dictate, Dragon stops responding. At times, it is after 12 minutes. Sometimes, after 1 minute. When I am using Eclipse from Advantage Software, it says something about the RPC server is unavailable. There are also times when it says to check microphone state. I've tried running the repair from the Dragon disk. I am not sure if it is a microphone issue or a corrupt user profile. I would greatly appreciate any ideas to remedy the problem! Thank you!! ------------------------- April J. Ehrlich |

Welcome to the World's Most Popular Speech Recognition Forum
We suspect a possible Windows security patch might be causing latency issues in NaturallySpeaking Ver. 11. We believe that Nuance is aware of the problem because most latency issues have been resolved in the NaturallySpeaking Pro 12 Upgrade. Our best guess is that the developers could have created a patch Ver. 11 but by the time they figured it out, it was almost time to release Ver. 12. Running a repair of NaturallySpeaking won't help but it is possible that you have corrupted user profile. You can test this theory by creating a new user profile and skipping general training, to save time. You might also consider creating a new user profile based on BestMatch III which will run a little faster. When creating your profile, you will need to click the Advanced button to change from the default BestMatch IV setting. -------------------------
