A few weeks ago Crucial released a new product that:
Cost is $117.99. I'm wondering if any of you have heard of this product and what your thinking would be as a means to inexpensively speed up your system. Thanks. MCR

I thought long and hard about a similar product when SSD's were much more expensive. These cache products probably make sense if you have terabytes of data on hard drives and work on a few gigabytes at a time: something visual like movie editing or CAD. Even so, you are probably better off with Intel's Z68 and SSD 311 solution than a kluge plugged into a random SATA port. I finally came to the conclusion that, if I was going to the trouble of opening my computer case, attaching a drive to the motherboard, mounting the drive in the case and installing software...well I might as well spend a few dollars more and port the entire operating system and all of my programs to a larger SSD. That is what I did and have never looked back. ------------------------- |
