Is anyone else having horrible durability problems with the Andrea 700? I'm on my third headset, which just failed after a couple days' use. In each case, the symptoms are the same -- sudden loss of audio at the earphone, with intermittent function when jiggling the input wire. With the current iteration, I can get continuous audio by holding my head in exactly the right position. Unfortunately, that position does not allow me to see the computer monitor. This solution also interferes with coffee intake. Andrea has been very responsive, but the shipping costs are at the point of outstripping the original purchase price. I don't think I have a very high-stress environment, though the dogs occasionally get tangled and give the wire a pull. On the other hand, I purchased a Vxi Tria, which has been used more than the Andreas, with no problem. The set that came with DNS (which has been used more than any other at this point) likewise has survived without mishap. i do prefer the Andrea over the Vxi for both comfort and DNS accuracy, but this problem is passing through aggravating and into unacceptable. Thoughts?

I have had the same problems with my Andrea microphones. They just suddenly stop working and have to be replaced. The one I'm currently using lost the audio playback function several months ago. I also have had problems with the wires of being "jiggly" and only working in a certain position. Since 2004 I think I've had at least five, maybe six, different Andrea microphones. Right now I'm trying to decide if I issued to get another Andrea microphones because they are inexpensive or if I should trade up to a more expensive one. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I wound up switching to a The Boom, and I love it. It is as comfortable on my head as the Andrea, and it has noticeably superior accuracy. Worth every penny of additional expense, in my opinion. Good luck, Joe

We concur with Joe. Other than aesthetics, the ANC 700 microphone hasn't changed since the late 90s when it rained supreme. However, in the last 15 years or so, numerous other microphones have surpassed its quality, noise cancellation and accuracy. Our favorite wired headset microphone is currently theBoom “O” microphone which is now in its 3rd generation.
