Hi all!
I've read today an interrresting review of Creative's Xmod, which can be used as an external sound card.
http://forum.generationmp3.com/Creative_XMod-t41848.html?showtopic=41848 Now if you go to the bottom of the page, you'll see the frequency response curve , noise level, dynamic range etc.. analysed by the rightmark benchmark.
Now on the basis of these graphs, what do the expert think ? COuld it be a better sound card than Andrea USB Pod ? Is it worth trying ?
if yes, is it to be used with a modified or a normal Sennheiser ?
Merry Christmas to all ! |

Interesting - but if I read the limited information (and pretty pictures) correctly there might be a problem for speech recognition as it converts audio from 16 bit into 24 bit where Dragon is looking for 16 bit. The X-Mod appears to be specifically designed to improve the performance of MP3 recordings where the Andrea, VXi and Buddy USB pods are specifically designed for speech recognition. A further advantage is that they don't require mains power whereas the X-Mod does. Graham -------------------------

Sergio, >if yes, is it to be used with a modified or a normal Sennheiser ? Just add to what Graham said, the device is not very portable. As it is SoundBlaster, the pin configuration is not compatible with a Sennheiser headset connector without an Adapter Converter (Andrea P-4).
