Question of cost vs. benefit; does anyone have opinions on this topic? The (university) auditorium holds about 200 folks. The cost, I hope, can be in the low three-figures. The mike would broadcast to a unit that plugs into an existing port that has wires to the loudspeakers. [I have a permanent frog in my throat. I know nothing about mikes.]

Mayday, 200 people in an auditorium? You are talking about the need for professional quality equipment. See the Sennheiser Wireless Lapel Microphone. This microphone is in the mid-$500.00 class. It should connect directly to the PA system or through the amplifier/mixer. Martin ------------------------- Martin Markoe - BANNED USER: This user has been banned from these forums |

Martin's recommendation is excellent but if you're looking for something a little less expensive you could go with the $335 Nady Encore II or substitute the KnowBrainer Hands-free microphone for the Sennheiser KnowBrainer microphone which would drop the price down to $229 and... both options include a lapel microphone although, because of significant noise cancellation problems, we don't recommend using it.
