When I start using the Jabra pro 9470 I can hear an echo when I begin talking on a phone call. The echo lasts about 20-25 seconds. Also when I begin dictating with DNS the first letter is repeated for example phone will PPhone ,call will be ccall. Is there a setting that needs to be ajusted or is the Jabra defective? Thanks for the help |

Welcome to the World's Most Popular Speech Recognition Forum
Both of these issues are likely tied to your soft phone settings (assuming you are using a soft phone as opposed to a direct landline connection). While we have used the Jabra Pro 9470 for speech recognition, we have never used the soft phone but the good news is that Jabra Support 800-826-4656 is usually quite good and they can probably solve this problem quickly. -------------------------

Thank you for your reply. I am using a hard-line on my telephone and a soft phone for dns. I did speak with customer service they did not have any suggestions for changing settings. I'm wondering if the dual microphones are not functioning correctly. If anyone has any other suggestions I would appreciate them. Thank you very much |

We suspect the echo is far more likely being caused by your microphone sending information to the soft phone soundcard (which it should be doing) but unfortunately sending that same information back to your speaker (delayed). That portion should be muted and probably explains the echo. We believe this is a setting but unfortunately, we do not know how to access this option. As a temporary speech recognition work around, you could simply mute the speaker. -------------------------
