I like to work in near silence and have found that a couple twist ties is all it takes to attach my Audio Technica Pro8HE headset to a $20 pair of -30dB noise reduction earmuffs I got at Home Depot:
I keep a set like this at home and at work. No matter what else is going on (kids watching TV, colleagues being noisy, etc), I find that this combination lets me both tune out the noise and get good voice recognition results.

That is a very interesting combination. I have the audio-technica headset and the boom o. The one thing that keeps me coming back to the boom is that it is more comfortable and I am better able to consistently keep the microphone in the optimal position. Something like this might be ideal for what I am looking for.
I have noticed that the audio-technic is slightly more accurate and more noise canceling may be a set up like this would give me the best of both worlds. |

The noise reduction earmuffs are pretty tight so you may not find them very comfortable, but I don't mind them at all.

If ear muffs are pretty tight I probably wouldn't find them to be comfortable. One of my big problems with AT headset is that I am not able to get it to always stay in the right position so, a combination like that might help me with this problem.
