I have posted this in here under microphone but relates to the solution that I received help with re Dragon and environmental commands I am creating.

Now I have Dragon commands going to environmental controller and giving voice control to disabled person, when in bed they cannot move and can't wear a headset.  Can any of you recommend a microphone that is wireless (not bluetooth) and can simply be mounted or attached in some way near him?  I have actually tried the iPhone App Dragon Microphone and it is excellent, so it offers one option, but does tie up the phone when he is in bed.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

I can't think of any truly wireless solution that would work for you. But off the top of my head I am thinking that a 3-1 desktop microphone might work well for you. You can more than likely find somewhere to mount it. And I have heard that has an effective range of more than 24 inches. So, while It might not be truly wireless it might be worth considering.

You can check it out here.

it just occurred to me that you might also be able to find some sort of wireless lapel microphone. I don't know of one offhand though.

Would it be possible for your client to wear an extremely small light gauge wire headset microphone that simply goes around 1 ear? If so, the Samson Stage 55 might fit the bill and is very expensive. If the headset option is completely out, you could remove the headset and plug a standard analog microphone into the Stage 55 belt pack (which could be side mounted onto a railing). This would give you a number of optional microphones such as the Samson Q7 or Sennheiser MD431 II.
