I'm ready to upgrade my Andrea microphone, which has playback capacity. I like this feature very much. I need to order two microphones, one for my flexi-place at home and one for the office. I'm interested in the Boom type of microphones, but I can't determine if these type of microphones have the playback feature. Does anyone have recommendations or know about the capacity of the boom series? Thanks in advance for your feedback. Regards, Rita

theBoom “O” (on backorder everywhere until late April/early May) includes a single speaker for playback. theBoom “C” microphone is identical to theBoom "O" with non-high fidelity stereo speakers. theBoom “V4” is a low-profile ear hook style microphone featuring a single speaker in your ear gel cap design. theBoom Pro-1 (on backorder everywhere until late April/early May) is an industrial-strength version of theBoom "O" while theBoom Pro-2 is an industrial-strength version of theBoom "C". theBoom Pro-3 is a more robust high fidelity stereo (for listening to music) version of theBoom "C" and theBoom Quite is similar to the Pro-3 but with slightly larger speakers and the inclusion of a white noise generator which cuts environmental noise by approximately 15 dB. All of these microphones feature the same microphone element, accuracy and noise cancellation.
If you had your heart set on theBoom "O" or Pro-1, which are both delayed, you might also consider the VXI Tria V-DC which is equivalent to theBoom "O" but like all VXI microphones, includes a two-year warranty. TheBoom line of microphones includes a one-year warranty. Also note that we recommend adding a USB Pod external soundcard to any of the previously mentioned microphones. Other headset speaker microphone choices include the TalkPro USB1, TalkPro USB2 (dual speakers) TalkPro USB3, TalkPro UC1, TalkPro UC2 and TalkPro UC3. Note that all 6 of the previously mentioned microphones include an integrated USB soundcard. The difference between the USB1-3 and UC1-3 models is that the UC1-3s have a hotter input and include echo cancellation which is a nice feature if you require your microphone for VoIP use. -------------------------

I especially like the boom microphones because they allow you to speak very softly. So you can feel comfortable dictating in any environment. You can literally almost dictate in a whisper so no one around you can hear what you are dictating. They also as I have found have a relatively high degree of noise cancellation. But this much you can see by looking at the comparison matrix.

Working in a cubicle, as I do, the ability to speak quietly is a definite asset in a microphone. I will be traveling with a laptop and I wonder how well theBoom microphones do in this regard. It seems like theBoom v4 microphone might be the best choice because it seems much smaller. Do you have any experience with this?
