I recently got an Andrea usb sa, to use with my airline seventy-seven. When I put it through the microphone test it sounds like it is in a cave. When I plug it into the computer's soundcard it sounds nice and crisp.

Any ideas.

Paul,

I've been using the Andrea PureAudio USB-SA for several years with the Samson Airline 77 wireless microphone and I always get very clear output when running the Audio Setup Wizard (Check Microphone - DNS 11). It doesn't matter whether I'm running DNS 10.1 Medical under Windows XP SP three or whether I'm running it under Windows 7 64-bit SP1. I get the same quality as with any other microphone.

The only way that anyone could tell exactly what you're talking about would be to attach a copy of your audio.wav file.

You can find the audio.wav file at the following location:

C:\ProgramData\Nuance\NaturallySpeaking11\Users\<your user name>\current\voice_container\audio.wav

Just make sure that you run the Audio Setup Wizard (Check Microphone - DNS 11) using the Andrea PureAudio USB-SA and your Samson Airline 77 wireless microphone first before you attach that file.

The recording sounds clean but with a deep reverb or echo. It sounds as though you may have inadvertently created a sound output loop. Is anything connected to the PureAudio USB output? Are you certain that you have no special effects turned on through the software that was included with your PureAudio. If none of fits the bill, we recommend returning your sound card to your speech recognition VAR to test.
