These Samson airline 77 microphones seem to work on different channels, anyone know which is the correct microphone use with Dragon as I want the correct microphone but don't want to spend more than I have to?
Thanks

Gary,

The channel is irrelevant. The only thing the channel does is make sure that the microphone and the particular channel being used are matched. In other words, the receiver and the microphone (transmitter) have to be using the same channel.

Otherwise, the only decision you have to make is whether you want to use the over the ears behind the head model or the wireless handheld model, which I don't recommend and which is much more expensive as well as being coupled with the Samson Q7 (i.e., a handheld microphone that doesn't provide you with noise canceling capabilities). Otherwise, just stay away from the Samson AirLine 77 Wind Instrument Wireless System. Whether you're choosing channel 1, channel 2, or channel 3 doesn't matter. These are just frequency ranges and the only consideration is that the transmitter be matched with the receiver in terms of the frequency (i.e., CH 1, CH 2, or CH 3). The only need to be concerned with frequency is if you're going to use multiple Samson Airline 77 wireless microphones in the same vicinity.

The other thing to take into consideration is that the proper XLR cable for use with speech recognition is the preferred cable. That is, it's the cable that works best. The 1/4 inch plug to 1/8 inch plug seems to be problematic for some users of Dragon. However, this is generally the standard cable that comes with the Samson Airline 77 wireless microphone unless you specifically request the XLR cable. I would strongly recommend that you purchase the Samson Airline 77 wireless microphone from a reputable distributor familiar with Dragon NaturallySpeaking. Otherwise, you're likely to run into numerous issues and delays. Very few microphone distributors are also speech recognition aware. You could end up buying a pig in a poke if you're not careful.

Hopefully, Lunis will chime in on from whom and from where you ought to purchase the Samson Airline 77 wireless microphone.

Unfortunately not all XLR cables work ideally with speech recognition so our 1st recommendation would be to contact your local UK speech recognition reseller. Our favorite 3 Nuance-certified speech recognition resellers are Lindsey, Peter and Graham who also volunteer a lot of time answering questions on this forum. We recommend checking with them 1st but if you can't find an appropriate unit in the UK, we also carry the 220 V Samson Airline 77 with the appropriate modifications.

As Chuck says, the actual UHF channel doesn't matter.
