Good afternoon,

Shorter version at top.

Question #1: If I use Auto Transcribe Folder Agent, I am unable to use the playback feature in the .TXT file generated.  I've tried installing Dragon on one other machine with the same results.  Does this happen on all machines?  (if I manually rename the extension to .RTF, playback works).

Question #2: Is there a way I can use Auto Transcribe Folder Agent into an .RTF file instead of a .TXT?  (thinking of maybe a Windows Task that periodically runs the command line for a text to RTF utility, but checking for a built-in way first).

Additional backstory.

Using Dragon Professional 11.5 for this test.  Using a digital recorder with Auto Transcribe Folder Agent with the Generate DRA file checkbox checked.  The audio file, the .DRA file, and the .TXT are generated in the output directory.  I open up the .TXT file and cannot do a playback.

If I dictate manually with a headset into .TXT file, I can perform playback on the text dictated with the headset.  Still cannot playback text transcribed from the digital recorder.

Workaround: If I change the extension of the .TXT file to an .RTF file in Windows, then open the .RTF file, I can perform a playback on the transcribed text from the digital recorder.

If I open the .TXT file in WordPad or Microsoft Word, I cannot perform a playback on the transcribed text.

I didn't want to spend too much time for it, but was looking at options for transcription with Dragon.

Another workaround I'm thinking of is that a transcriptionist would just take the audio file after the Auto Transcription Folder Agent moves the audio file over, open up Dragon, then use the Transcribe button from there.  I think typing out this post has helped me flesh out alternative methods.

Kudos, that's the most fashionable method in use around here, you got it!
