The DS-4000 is a bit dated at this point but it's still a great recorder, all metal construction and will work very well with all versions of NaturallySpeaking from Preferred/Premium on up through Ver. 11.5. Note that the DSS Player Pro software and the voice recorder Transcription Kit will install on Windows 7 but won't actually work. The software will only work on Windows XP but the good news is that if you install the Ver. 4 software, you can add a $20 DSS Player Pro 5 Backup DVD, to install the Ver. 5 software right over the top of Ver. 4 as an upgrade without having to purchase the latest software which makes this offer even more interesting. -------------------------
