We are trying to move from using a transcriptionist to using Dragon. We don't have time to read our own dictations for accuracy so are putting the files on a usb stick to send to the front to have someone else read and correct. The file goes up as the word document plus the .dra file and an .sd file. I am having difficulty finding out how a different user loads the .dra file so that they can listen to words in the microsoft word file that need to be corrected. I checked the help in DNS which seems to indicate it can be done, but recommends checking with my "value added reseller" about ways to dictate on one computer and correct on another. Any suggestions?

Welcome to the KnowBrainer Forums
All your remote/editor has to do is open the end-user's profile on their own computer (assuming the workstation has a copy of NaturallySpeaking installed on it). 1 way to do this by opening a Roaming user profile (for additional information on Roaming, look up Roaming in the NaturallySpeaking Quick Tips (at the top of this page) or simply by opening the user profile on the other workstation or server. Once you have the appropriate user profile open, you can open the Microsoft Word document which will automatically load the dra file. You can randomly playback the recording that is attached to the text by highlighting it and pressing the default hotkey which is {Shift+NumKey-}. However, our 1st recommendation would be to change his hotkey to something easier such as {F10}. We would additionally recommend enabling double-click correction so that when the editor double clicks on a word or phrase, it will open the Correction Dialog Box for you to make changes. Note that if you make corrections directly to the document, you will lose your link to the dra file. Always make corrections through the Spell That Correction Dialog Box. Just think of us as your temporary VAR (value added reseller) PS: You might additionally consider checking consider the NaturallySpeaking Pro 11 Upgrade which is a significant improvement over Ver. 10. -------------------------
