Hello,
I have a problem when issuing commands to dialog boxes on my extended desktop (Second monitor). When I issue commands like click file, close window, click okay, etc. to Windows that are positioned on my extended desktop (second monitor), I can see the mouse move and issue what appears to be a mouse click, but the activity doesn't actually happen, it just takes the dialog box from active to inactive
If I position the mouse over the 'OK" button and say 'mouse click' that will work.
Alternately, commands that are composed of control characters and a keyboard sequences work fine on both monitors.
Suggestions?
I have experienced this behavior with two different laptops in two extended configurations?
System: Laptop: HP Laptop, 6930p 2 Gig Ram, XP, SP3, DNS 9.51
If I move that same window to my primary monitor, the command will work flawlessly. |

The mouse click command does nothing more than left mouse click so this isn't a problem or solution. You probably already know this but we're just covering our bases. Extending your notebook computer desktop to a 2nd monitor shouldn't exhibit this behavior as the Big Haired Lady (spouse) works with exactly the same setup and doesn't have this issue with dialog boxes or menus. This might have something to do with how you setup your 2nd monitor. In our situation, all we did was extend the desktop to cover the 2nd monitor so that each monitor would be treated as part of our desktop. We use the same procedure for all of our computers including one office computer with 4 monitors. The only problem you should have is when you attempt to use the MouseGrid. If this is how your system is set up than all we can think of is a hardware setting but nothing comes to mind.

I have had the exact same problem. I posted about it a couple weeks ago (

I managed to resolve my similar problem. Originally, I had the right-side monitor as the default/primary. I simply changed the primary monitor to be the left-side monitor and the problems went away.
