Voicewriter court reporter here.  All has been going swimmingly until very recently.  Many small words are just being left out of my dictation.  The endings of words are being left off.  Relatively new laptop (that I love).  Am not sure if my user profile has been corrupted or not.  But definitely NOT working as well as it was a few months ago!  No string of him, him, him.  Your thoughts/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  I put the specs for my computer in my profile.  deb

Try creating a new profile. Although not everyone experiences profile degradation, it happens to some Dragon users.

Dreading it, but I will do it today. Thank you, Mr. Cantor. Am looking forward to discovering the apparently immense field of knowledge within this user group. I basically stumbled onto KnowBrainer. deb

No need to dread making a new profile. The entire process takes ten minutes or less. I've done it so many times that I can be up and running with a new profile in less than five minutes.

If the cause of the problems is the profile, the accuracy of a new one is usually excellent. But a new profile won't help if the source of the problem is the sound system, e.g., a failing microphone, noisy environment, etc.

When making a new profile:

If you have custom commands, make sure to export them first so you can import them into the new profile.

If you have custom words, export them to a file. Then open the file. The words will appear in this form:

Abert
Braxy
Cratz
etc.

and/or in this form:

Abert\a bert
Braxy\bray xie
Cratz\crates
etc.

Each line represents a custom word, without and with spoken forms. Delete the lines that you don't need or want. Then save the file. Import the file into your new profile.

                    Welcome (See Mission Statement)

Because you are a court reporter, as Alan noted, you have very little to lose by creating a new user profile but if you have added any words or phrases to your personal vocabulary, consider exporting them 1st via the DragonBar Export custom words and phrases list menu. Then use the Import custom words and phrases list to import your personal vocabulary export.

We also recommend making an additional test before creating a new user profile. Try dictating a sentence or 2 in DragonPad followed by saying play that back to listen to a recording of your voice. You want to make certain that those little words are being picked up to rule out a possible problem with your sound system.
