We have been testing a (we will call it prerelease) of DPI 15.6 and it is definitely on the way but has a few bugs that are preventing it from going gold. A small Appearance/Option oops was forgetting to remove some of the options which are no longer available. The only 15.6 Appearance/Options are the default Modern DragonBar and minimizing Dragon to the task bar. This is merely a cosmetic boo-boo. The other current catch is a pop-up error which we experienced in a prerelease a of DMPE 4.3. You can't get rid of the pop-up until you reboot Windows, which is almost painless. We only tested DPI 15.6  for about an hour but it appears to be nearly ready for prime time.

We will make another announcement and include a download when Nuance officially releases it. Nuance claims Ver. 15.6 can easily be installed over the top of 15.0 and 15.3. We have verified that claim. We will not be conducting any more testing because we are using DPG 15.6. In our opinion, this release, pretty much eliminates any chance of Nuance releasing DPI 16 for a long time but one really knows.

PS: Anyone using DragonCapture will need to reinstall but not uninstall or reenter their serial number. This is also relatively painless.

Running a repair should be enough. Go to "Apps & Features", select DragonCapture, and click on "Modify".

Not sure about WordPerfect X9, but the even more recent WordPerfect 2020 does not produce the green light with DNS 15.6.

DPI 15.6 does give the green light to WordPerfect X9. So, how hard could it have been for DPI 15.6 to allow select-and-say with WordPerfect 2020?

Our best guess is that you simply haven't enabled the WordPerfect X9 add-in. We believe DPG 15.5 or possibly even 15.4 were WordPerfect X9 compatible and we would be surprised if Ver. 15.6 isn't WordPerfect XX compatible.

Not sure what the X9 add-in is but that X9 does select-and-say with DPI 15.6 and that WordPerfect 2020 does not.

Is there going to be an option to make the correction window larger? I'm using the monitor with the 1920x1080p resolution and the correction box is real tiny even though I have the scaling at 125%.

Adding a smidgen to Alan's sage advice… Select-&-Say correction is also about 3 times faster

That would be nice. But whether yes or no, there is a workaround to Dragon's correction windows/menus that are too small to see comfortably that I find makes Dragon a little easier to use:

Avoid using "correct" and "spell" commands. Instead use the "select" command. Select mis-recognized words and then dictate the words you want to appear instead.

What helps: (examples are from the paragraph above)

1. Select a phrase instead of a word: "select avoid using"

2. Avoid selecting one-syllable words: So rather than "select use" say "select instead use"

According to Nuance's documentation, the select-and-say method helps to improve Dragon's accuracy.

I find the select-and-say technique is faster than using "correct" or "spell" commands because it takes less visual and cognitive effort -- there is no list of options to scan. And there are no tiny font sizes to deal with!
