Hello,

I recently tried to turn off automatic Profile saving upon exiting from Dragon 15.3 .  I was trying to apply the Know Brainer quick tips method B).  This required modifying the folder:

C:\ProgramData\Nuance\Dragon15\Users\(your username)\current \Options.Ini

My username is Steve.  However, the only folder in \users\ with my name is SteveJ.  This was stored on same disk, but in no DPI 15 path. This is an old username that I used with DPI 14.  The name is obviously wrong.  Furthermore, this folder only contains a folder called counters.  No Options.Ini file was in this path.

This might be an example of DPI 15 flakiness.

ls it worth while trying to reconstruct what should be a folder called Steve?  The alternative of reinstalling Dragon seems better, because it is better controlled.

Does this require reinstalling DPI 15.1 and then DPI 15.3 on top of it?

Note I removed all copies of folders with Stevex Stevexx and so on from disk after observing the above error.

Thanks for any ideas you may have.

We doubt you need to reinstall Dragon but if you do, you have to install DPI 15.0 1st and then install the Dragon 15 Patch to upgrade DPI 15 & DLI 15 to Ver. 15.3. There is no DPI 15.1. Unless you have moved your DPI 15 user profile, you will find it at %PROGRAMDATA%\Nuance\NaturallySpeaking15\Users%PROGRAMDATA%\Nuance\Dragon15\Users is an incorrect address that you can blame on us. For whatever reasons, possibly legal reasons, Nuance changed the word “NaturallySpeaking” to “Dragon”. However, it did not change the word in any Dragon directories so we over thought that one. Our apologies. Please try the new address

Hi Lunis,

Thanks for your reply. I restored the DPI 15 user profile. There are too many errors now. So I need to reinstall everything. I checked my DPI installs. The one for DPI 14 is too early. The one for DPI 15 mysteriously turns out to be for DPI 14 as well. I looked at all my backups, but am missing an install for DPI 15. Since I bought it from you, could you send me another copy? Thanks a lot.

Also, for future reference, should I send this kind of message to you privately.

Sincerely,
Jaff

Hi Lunis,

Thank you for new download.

IS there a way to clear away the debris from my previous DPI 15 and 15.3?cc . Maybe an uninstall?

Sincerely
Jaff

Nuance never released a full copy of DPI 15.3, like they did with with Ver. 15.5 in the Group and Medical editions of Dragon. You'll have to install 15.0 and then add the patch. However, if you believe there is some local corruption, you can simply uninstall whatever you have now and if you really want to start over from scratch, you can use DragonRemover (removes any version or edition of Dragon) but keep in mind that it will also remove your user profiles unless you copy/move them to a safe location, like your desktop.
