I was taught by a coach to say "Cap That" to put intial-cap a selected word or phrase, and "UnCap that" to undo it. It worked on her computer! I'm running DNS Pro 8.1 and only two capping commands -- "Cap That" and "All Caps That" -- work for me. When I say "UnCap That," Dragon types "On cap that," or some variant. The command browser doesn't list a single capping command. Am I looking in the wrong place for the capping commands, or saying the wrong thing? Is there a solution? And while I'm on the subject of commands: DNS has great trouble recognizing the commands "Choose 1" and "Choose 2." It responds with either <???> or "1" or "2." I'm using a Sennheiser headset mic, too, which has really improved my other recognition problems. How can I change the "Choose 1" command to "Pick 1?" Many thanks, as always. Dylan |

1. Try saying "no caps that" to remove the capitalization. 2. There is a very coherent description of how to change the "choose [numeral]" command at http://speechwiki.org/SR/BadCorrectionWindow.html ------------------------- |

Matt, I've hotlinked three terms in your article, Advanced Scripting, macro, and HeardWord. I preserved the boldness while making HeardWord into a link, however that particular article is in it's infancy. The first two are much more mature articles. Thanks, Ian, but only the command is mine. Scott Weinstein wrote the article and deserves the credit for making this information more widely available (as do you, now!).

I've further gussied up the "BadCorrections" article with an introductory preamble and linked all the critical terms to existing articles, so people may understand it on its own. I've also created a correspondingly new and important about the CorrectionContextMenu itself, and included it within the linked body of items. This NaturallySpeaking FAQ is always a work a in progress, but I am satisified with these two articles, and will remain so for a while. And I need sleep anyways for my job in 7.5 hours. Ian, Can you provide a link to the actual "Bad Corrections" article? I couldn't find anything by that name in the FAQ. Whic, by the way, is incredibly helpful. Dylan |

Dylan, Yep -just click Matt Chambers' link at the top of this topic. Thank you for the complimentary feedback. Ian ------------------------- Former primary author of Speechwiki NaturallySpeaking FAQ. |

Thanks for pointing out the (obvious) link! (Slaps self on head.) Matt or Ian, if you know whether those instructions for changing "Choose" to "Pick" will leave the old "Choose" command intact, that would be useful. |

Or - you can say: No Caps <word>" such as: "No caps jack"

Matt, Dana--thank you! Both "No Caps That" and "No Caps <word>" work flawlessly. Matt, that coherent scripting instruction Wiki is over my head. Sorry--I'm just not there yet. (But trying! And I've got them bookmarked.) If anyone runs into a step-by-step guide that literally starts with "First you go to the Tools menu," please let me know! My goal is changing "Choose 1" and "Choose 2" to "Pick 1" and "Pick 2." |

Dylan,
Although I have no experience with the program, it is my understanding that the KnowBrainer software already has the "Pick <numeral >command built-in. Just for your information. :-) Paul |
