I installed Dragon NaturallySpeaking ver.12 on my main computer. It is 64-bit M-tech. Everything works fine. I am very satisfied with this version of the program. I tried to install the program on my backup computer, which is thirty-two bit VAIO. I keep getting an error message which states "error 1305. Error reading from file C:\program files\Nuance\NaturallySpeaking twelve\jtutorial\content\deu\resources\correction 2_1.jpg. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it.

If you are receiving this error during the installation process, it probably means that your DVD reader isn't running fast enough for the installation. A simple workaround would be to create a new folder on your desktop, copy the contents of the DNS 12 installation DVD into that folder and double-click setup.exe with the green flame icon. This will allow you to install NaturallySpeaking from your hard drive which will be more bulletproof and notably faster than your DVD drive.

I am trying my installation on my new computer and I am getting the same error.  I tried following your instruction with copying the folder to my hard drive, but I cannot get the following two files to copy:

ENUGen~2

ENUGen~3

I have tried to copy the files manually and it will not work.  Any suggestions?

Thanks for your help

If you cannot get absolutely every file and folder to copy from your installation disk to your hard drive folder, the process will not likely work. This means that you probably have a dirty or damaged disk. Try washing your disk with mild soap and water and repeating the process. If that doesn't work, you may need a Backup DVD

Dan,

Lunis nailed it. There is no reason why you shouldn't be able to copy any or all files on the Dragon install DVD. If you have a problem copying files you should have gotten that error message if they didn't copy. Nevertheless, if you can't copy files from the original DVD, then you have a problem with the DVD.

The same applies to Glenn as far as accessing files on the DVD.
