We are happy to announce the release of Freesr Speech Recognition Software which works with NaturallySpeaking and Windows Speech Recognition (in both standard and shared mode). It is available for download immediately.

Freesr is a simple, lightweight, tool that allows you to build customized voice interfaces for any program, webpage, or task. You can assign voice commands to programs, individual windows in a program, and even web pages and websites. Build everything from simple static voice commands to complex dynamic voice interfaces using our innovative template system. 

With Freesr, there is no programming or VBA experience required. A simple Voice Command Wizard guides you through the process of creating custom voice commands. Freesr is an incredibly intuitive program that requires minimal training. You can expect to begin creating custom voice commands within 5 minutes of installing the program.

Additionally, Freesr provides must have command and control features such as show numbers functionality for clicking controls, taskbar numbering for interacting with the taskbar, and window tabs for selecting and manipulating desktop windows. 

We are offering a low cost, simple to use, product for users and developers alike. The free version is sufficient for most end users to get started with voice control. Having a usable, robust, free version will serve as incentive for users to try Freesr.

We are also offering the ability to create custom branded versions of Freesr to empower other companies and individuals to release voice control applications for their fields (such as digital photography, CAD/CAM design, Electronic Medical Records software, etc). Create voice commands for your industry niche and we’ll package them up for you under your company’s brand. 

This initiative is important because it encourages entrepreneurship and expands voice recognition to areas where it hasn’t been possible before because the tools necessary to do it well have not been readily available. 

With Freesr, we want to change this and foster innovation. We are doing big things with this program. It is well written and philosophically far reaching. It works with NaturallySpeaking and can even replace NaturallySpeaking in a lot of applications using the Windows Speech Recognition engine which is already included with Windows and surprisingly good.

Freesr is designed from the ground up to be cross platform (Windows +Mac + Linux). We are currently looking for a partner to handle the Mac version and push Freesr into new markets, both locally and internationally. Freesr is multilingual and works well with non-English languages. Hi Voice, 

I do not know exactly (we haven't tested Freesr with other add-ons) but in theory they should work together. 

One issue in DNS v12 using BestMatch 5 is that if there are a lot of commands, it will slow down dictation.

If you run multiple add-ons that each add a lot of global voice commands, you could hit this threshhold. The good thing about Freesr is that commands are loaded and unloaded dynamically based on the program you are using so that alleviates this problem considerably.

Also, Freesr doesn't add many global commands out of the box unless you have enabled the Window Tab feature.
