My computer has been upgraded from XP to Windows 7 and Dragon got reinstalled. Since then, I've been receiving a registration request on a regular basis (it feels like every day, I'm not sure if it is, but it's certainly more often than once a week). I've already registered this Dragon product. I tried re-registering the same product, I've tried telling it not to ask me again and I've tried telling it I want to print the registration form. All to no avail. The message keeps coming up. Is there anything I can do to stop it? ------------------------- |

Look for Dragon's Program folder. On Windows 7, this should be something like C:\Program Files (x86)\Nuance\NaturallySpeaking11 Inside, there is a folder "EREG". Empty the contents, but don't delete the folder. That should do the trick. Stephan ------------------------- www.egs-vertrieb.de - Speech Recognition Blog - Forum: www.immer-eine-Nuance-besser.de |

Be very careful about doing this. The ereg.ini file contains your serial number along with the registration information. If you delete the folder that contains this file and you lose your serial number, you'll end up being SOL. There is a way to edit this file without having to delete the entire folder containing such. I don't recall offhand how to do it specifically, but I'll get back to you once I find my notes. Hold off for the time being.

Can you locate the file Ereg.ini under:
C:\ProgramData\Nuance\NaturallySpeaking11
and attach it, but please be sure to obfuscate your serial number in there.

Now here is another way I would suggest trying. In Windows 7, click "Start", and type "msconfig" into the search box, and press enter. Open the system start tab, and locate the "SSEreg" process, referring to Nuance etc. Remove the checkmark from the box in order to deactivate it, which it hopefully will do. I cannot test my own theory because I have effectively eliminated the reminder coming up by choosing to be reminded after 7 days when finishing the install, and then been given the option to never be reminded again indeed exactly one week later. So basically, I don't want to register, and I don't want to be reminded of.
