Hello there!

Does anyone on your forum have any experience with Dragon for the blind? I.e. Dragon NaturallySpeaking + J say? I'm specifically interested in information anyone might have regarding installation of J Say. We have Dragon 10.1 installed on our machines at work and we also have the most current version of JAWS installed. I'm just wondering how difficult it is to add the J-Say component. Does anyone on your forum have experience with this? Please let me know.

Thank you very much!

Freedom,

I have some experience with J-Say. I'm not a user myself, but I support some folks who are. NGT Voice (http://www.ngtvoice.com/products/software/tandt/j-say/  is the developer and vendor of the product, and they might be your best resource. The thing to keep in mind about J-Say is that it is version dependent. For example, J-Say 8 provides a bridge between Dragon 11 and JAWS 12. If you're using the latest version of JAWS, that's JAWS 13. I don't know if there's a version of J-Say that will bridge between Dragon 10 and JAWS 13. I'd recommend consulting with NGT Voice to find out what the best (most stable, easy to use) version of J-Say is for whichever versions of Dragon and JAWS that you have on hand.

Thank you very much for your rapid reply.
I will check with my IT person to see the exact versions of all of the software involved and then get back with you
. I'm out of town currently. I am familiar with NGT, as we're based in Seattle, but for some reason our IT person had had trouble communicating with them directly at the time the issue first came up some years ago. I'm not sure why. Thank you for checking in and I will get back with you when I have more complete information. I really appreciate it.
