One of my clients, who I will not get a chance to see for several days, has a DNS problem: major latency problems, and frequent messages of "Attempting to recover from low system resources." This occurs while running DNS 11.5 Pro, Core I7-2860QM, 12 GB RAM. It's a brand new laptop. What steps would you take to alleviate the problem? Which "fixes" are most likely to make a difference?
Without having had a chance to check out the situation, my guess is that the problem is probably related to the quality of the audio signal. I am open to hearing other theories. I have rarely seen the "recovering from low system resources" message, so I am curious if anybody knows the circumstances that trigger this message. |

Alan, 1. Create a new user profile. 2. Do not use Manage Vocabularies… to transfer the vocabulary from the original user profile to the new one. Use the Export custom word and phrase list… 3. Skip training. 4. Don't copy the original mycmds.dat or use the Export custom commands initially. Simply leave the default mycmds.dat created when you have them create a new user. 5. Run that newly created user profile for at least a day and see if the problem persists with that new user profile. -------------------------

We were experiencing occasional low system resource messages on our “apparently antique” Core i7 990x system running 24 Gb of RAM. Although it's too early to be certain, we suspect our problem may have been connected to what appears to be a poorly written Windows update which was repaired by another Windows update 48 hours ago. We haven't experienced the error since but it's a little too early in the game to call. We are only mentioning this because there is a chance that this problem is not related to NaturallySpeaking and may take care of itself.
